Pasquart is a cultural center bringing together several institutions, including a contemporary art center, a photography space, a cinema, and open public areas. I approached it as a place of coexistence and contrast. The site is made of two buildings, one very old and one contemporary, placed side by side. This duality is reflected in the logo through the use of two different typefaces, with the word art set in a more modern style to reflect the institution’s focus on contemporary art.
Because Pasquart hosts many forms of artistic practice, I designed the identity to be flexible and adaptable. The word art changes depending on context: it can take on the appearance of an image or shift through multiple colors when no image is present. A key aspect of the project was interactivity, particularly for younger audiences. Some elements, such as posters, are designed to be drawn on, encouraging the public to actively engage with the visual identity.
